A Texas native from New Braunfels, Sure Shot Vanessa started shooting at the age of five. After asking questions about her grandparents’ guns and being properly trained on firearms safety and respect, she was allowed to practice on a regular basis, and now competes in Steel Challenge and IDPA. Today, Vanessa is a third-grade student and is also a cheerleader. Vanessa doesn’t let her hearing impairment get in the way of her training—she trains safe, trains hard and trains often.
Vanessa used her own Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 that was custom-dipped in pink camouflage (which she calls “Barbie”), her Walther P-22 (“Fiona”) and her pink and black custom-cerakoted Smith & Wesson M&P 22 compact (“Princess”) with her initials on it, given to her by Alamo Tactical, LLC. You can read more about Vanessa in Issue 7 of Sure Shots Magazine. |
